look at grades 5 & 6
Our fifth and sixth grade teachers
prepare their students for success at school through hands-on learning
experiences while building valuable leadership skills. Students
participate in science experiments, creative writing, band, student
council, Mass, daily announcements and patrol.

5th Grade Teacher:
Patty
Skluzacek graduated from Mankato State University with a BA and degrees in
Physical Education and Elementary Education. She has been teaching at DMCS
since 1983 and currently teaches our English for 5th and 6th grade
classes.
5th Grade Teacher:
Julie
Smisek is an alumni of our school and Bethlehem Academy. She
attended the College of St. Benedict and has been teaching at DMCS since
1993. She currently teaches our science classes for 5th & 6th
grade.
6th Grade Teacher:
Betsy
Thomas received her Elementary Education degree from the College of St.
Scholastica with a minor in Psychology. She is a lifelong learner who
obtained her Masters in Education from St. Mary's University. Betsy is an
alumni of All Saints catholic School in Lakeville as well as Bethlehem
Academy's 100th class in 1965!
6th Grade Teacher:
Kathy McClellan graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a degree
in Elementary Education and a Coaching certificate. She has been serving DMCS
since 1981 where she has taught preschool, 4th through 6th grade, and 7th and
8th grade math. She has also coached basketball and softball for our
school. Outside of our school, she was a parent educator for the Faribault
and Medford Early Childhood Family Education programs. Presently, she is a
6th grade homeroom teacher and math teacher for 5th and 6th grade classes.
