What
is Scrip?
SCRIP is a program utilizing local and national merchants. You order Scrip
money (in the forms of cards, certificates or checks) that you spend
instead of cash. When you shop at the hundreds of merchants using your
Scrip money, they reimburse our school a percentage of the sale.
It's easy, and you receive tuition credit for the money you spend!
Who
Can Use Scrip?
Anyone!
You do not need to have children attending Divine Mercy Catholic School or
Bethlehem Academy. As a Divine Mercy parishioner, you're encouraged to
utilize our Scrip program for all of your shopping needs as a way to
support your church, your parish community, and your local schools. You
can designate your earned credit to go to a specific family in need, or it
will be deposited in the general fund. What a beautiful way to give,
simply by shopping with money you're spending already!
How
Is Scrip Applied?
Divine Mercy Catholic School participates in a Scrip program to keep your
tuition costs down, and to help support others in our school who need
tuition assistance. Profits realized from your scrip purchases can be used
in the form of Tuition Credits at DMCS or Bethlehem Academy. If
you do not have children enrolled at our school, again, you can choose to
gift your credit to a family in need or your funds will be deposited in
the general fund to help support our tuition assistance program.
How
Do I Get Started?
Simply complete a Scrip order form today! Complete the Scrip Weekly
Order Form by downloading the form online or fill out a form at the
school. Check off the items you want for your shopping. You'll receive
Scrip cards in return. It's that simple. You save money on your child's
tuition simply for shopping at places you shop at anyway!

who participate in Scrip are donating a percentage of their sale back to

Defining Scrip
Scrip
is simply a word that means “substitute money.” Scrip comes in the
form of gift certificates or cards from national stores or local
retailers. By purchasing Scrip through the school before your shop, your
family earns tuition credit. Thousands of National Retailers participate,
including the following:

The
beauty of Scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to
work. You earn money for your child’s tuition account as well as our
school without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular
shopping dollars by using Scrip cards and certificates at the stores that
participate in the Scrip program! And Scrip can be used for just about any
household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment and gasoline!
Community
Scrip - What Is It?
Many area merchants also
participate in the Scrip program through Community Scrip. DMCS issues
universal certificates that may be redeemed at any of the participating
Community Scrip Merchants. The certificates are issued like a blank check
in various denominations. You make the certificate payable to the retailer
where you are shopping and sign it at the bottom. Community Scrip does
follow a "no-change back" policy, so purchase accordingly.
How Much
Tuition Credit Will I Receive?
Each time
you purchase Scrip through DMCS, that purchase is tracked in your
family’s account. For example, if you purchase a $100 of Hy-Vee or
Nelson’s gift cards through our Scrip program, your credit of
approximately $3 is saved into your family’s account. At the end of the
plan year, April 30th annually, 70% of your saved credit can be applied
toward your tuition bill. By
the end of the year, if you utilize Scrip regularly, that could be $100s
of dollars off of your school’s tuition bill!
You may
also begin saving before your child enters kindergarten. Your banked
credit is tracked until your child reaches kindergarten. When your child
begins kindergarten at DMCS, your tuition credit automatically is deducted
from your tuition at the beginning of your kindergarten year. Preschool Scrip use can be
banked for up to three years since preschool tuition is considered a form
of daycare by the IRS and not eligible for tuition credit.
How Do I
Enroll?
Just
complete a Scrip form available at school or online. We'll prepare your
order for pick up at our school office - it's that simple!
We
have been invited to be a test school for a new online scrip ordering
process through our scrip broker. Through
this process, parents and supporters go online to place their weekly scrip
orders, at their convenience - 24/7.
